Project Cargoes - Felixstowe to Jalaabad (2004)

Tuscor Lloyds UK Ltd, are renowned for their ability in moving project cargo to some of the most difficult destinations in the world.

In June 2004, Tuscor Lloyds were contacted to move several projects for the Reconstruction Programme in Afghanistan.

One of these shipments involved the transportation to Jalalabad of several large excavators and road rolling machines. The clients had specified that costs and service were of paramount importance due to the nature of the cargo, after all it was for the re-development programme in Afghanistan.

Tuscor Lloyds UK Ltd, stepped up to the challenge of meeting the lowest price with the best service coupled with a critical time frame. The cargo was successfully loaded into 4 x 40' Flat Rack Containers and these containers were successfully delivered to the Consignee's site in Jalalabad, on time and within budget.

This despite the many obstacles involved, such as obtaining the transport permits from both the Afghan and Pakistan authorities, the OOG dimensions, the cargo weight and the current volatile situation facing foreign aid companies.

Project Cargoes - Tilbury to Kabul (2004)

In April 2005 Tuscor Lloyds UK were approached by a representative of the British Military to facilitate the movement of equipment to the British contingent of the International Peacekeeping Force in Afghanistan (ISAF).

This particular consignment constituted several Trucks, Earthmoving Equipment and Construction Machines for the re-building programme in Afghanistan. The requirement was for a quality service, reliability and to stay within the budget set by the MOD.

Tuscor Lloyds UK Ltd accepted the challenge with professional enthusiasm and proceeded to arrange the movement. As the cargo arrived at the UK port it became clear that there would be several challenges faced, not just with the loading but with the whole logistics package.

The trucks were of standard military specification, but the road rollers and earthmovers were not and traveling over the Hindu Kush was going to be eventful. However, true to form, Tuscor Lloyds UK Ltd arrange the whole movement from start to finish and provided a full Management Service to the client allowing a daily update on location and condition.

All the units arrived at their designated base in Afghanistan ahead of schedule and under budget, much to the satisfaction of all involved. Consequently, Tuscor Lloyds UK Ltd, are now carrying more and more Military and Aid based cargo to Afghanistan for the British Military / ISAF, plus Brunei and Iraq.
