Project Cargos - UK to Brunswick
Tuscor Lloyds on behalf of their client arranged for the shipment of 11 containers including Flat Racks and Open Tops to move from the UK to the remote port of Saint John New Brunswick Canada. The cargo was destined to meet a supply ship operating in the North Atlantic and come September 2009 the cargo was ready to return to the UK. The supply ship arrived back in Saint John Port and all cargo discharged and returned back to our control.
Saint John New Brunswick is 425 klm’s from the nearest port with regular sailings to Europe further still the nearest specialised equipment required for the cargo was located 1500 klm’s away. By using our knowledge of Canadian logistics market we were able to mobilise equipment over the Canadian landmass to Saint John Port. Upon arrival of the equipment in Saint John Tuscor Lloyds arranged to have the cargo pick from quay side and secured to the equipment by the local Stevedoring company, before having bond documents issued to cover the cargo en-route to its new port of loading for shipment to the UK.
The job was more than just arranging for cargo loading and shipping it required the use of negotiations with the port authorities in order to use the local labour. It called for co-ordination in the movement of the empty equipment over a thousand kilometres from multiple origin points and have them arrive at the same time.
