All cargo moves via Pakistan through the Afghan Transit Trade Structure, where vessel calling at either QICT port Qasim or Karachi port. A vast and efficient railway and road network is used to move Afghan Transit Trade through the neighbouring country. A separate import manifest is lodged with the customs to ensure smooth & prompt delivery of containers/cargo. With efficient logistics the arrival time from Karachi port to Kandahar via Chamman is only 04-05 days whereas a delivery in Kabul only takes up to 7-8 days from Karachi port.

There is no rail network in Afghanistan and all trade is conducted by land route from Pakistan and other neighbouring countries. Cargo for Afghanistan in transit via Pakistan (Karachi Port) is exempted from Customs Duty and taxes in Pakistan. However, a Special Customs Cell processes and examines the cargo at Karachi Port.

Due to the location and current political scenario of Afghanistan very few freight forwarders are serving these destinations but Tuscor Lloyd has once again proved to be a pioneer. For the first time the UK and its neighbouring EU countries can now send regular commercial LCL cargo to Afghanistan and being the first off the mark, Tuscor Lloyds is currently the only forwarder offering LCL shipment services to Afghanistan.

Due to the extreme weight of this reel, it was not possible to truck it to the loading port in Antwerp, Belgium. Our projects team therefore arranged a feeder/coaster vessel to collect cargo directly from the shippers terminal in Newcastle. The break bulk cargo once loaded was taken to Antwerp port to be trans-loaded onto the mother vessel bound for the Far East.

Tuscor Lloyds extensive experience with such break bulk movements meant this huge oversized & heavyweight reel arrived its destination in Singapore without a hitch.

Measuring 5m x 3m x 4.2m and weighing in at 60 tonnes, this was no easy task, but as you can expect from our dedicated team, the problem was solved by loading the cargo as breakbulk on to 3 x 20’ flat racks ensuring it arrived safely at its destination.

The time frame and last minute urgency of the shipment meant that all the stops had to be pulled out to get this cargo accepted and loaded for the relevant vessel.

Despite the numerous obstacles involved, not to mention the weight, Tuscor Lloyds managed to successfully deliver the cargo on time to a very happy customer in Vietnam.

Tuscor Lloyds UK was requested to move an Industrial Paper Dryer to the USA on DDU bases.

The operation was fairly routine in UK, but due to its size and weight the cargo posed a serious problem as far as trucking in USA was concerned. US Transport regulations can prove tricky, especially when your load is 60 tonnes over the permitted road weight.

Again, by using our unparalleled experience and with the assistance of our USA custom broker, Tuscor Lloyds UK was able to comply with the requirements of both the customer and the US Authorities and complete the delivery within the required schedule and under budget.

Due to the destination of this item and its value, Tuscor Lloyds surveyors decided the best option would be to case the pump and load to a container vessel as 1 x 40’ Flat Rack container. This offered the best combination of security, price and speed for the clients requirements.

The client was trying to move a large amount of out of gauge cargo from Singapore to Genoa, but needed to connect to a nominated Charter Ship from Genoa to Algeria. With Chinese New Year approaching, the timescale was very tight and the shipment required delivery by the end of February. Tuscor Lloyds managed to complete the job within a relatively small budget. We negotiated low sea freight costs and a low transit times, but still provided a high quality service in the process.

During the mad rush of Chinese New Year, a team effort was needed to make the job a success. With the help of FOB agents, surveyors, cargo planners, our expert colleagues and a few sleepless nights, the cargo was secured and lashed on a regular liner service vessel from Singapore to Genoa. In fact with three days to spare the shipment arrived in time for the transhipment service to Algeria and finally arrived on time at destination to the amazement and immense satisfaction of the client.

Tuscor Lloyds were appointed to arrange the movement of abnormal size cargoes from Aberdeen to Melbourne. The cargo being too large for normal shipping procedure required the expertise of our project team who reviewed the sea passage together with the various options before decided on part charter from Aberdeen to the continent. The client arranged for the delivery of the cargo to ship side and during an unusually calm weather period on the Scottish coast we quickly loaded the cargo and set sail for Belgium. The weather conditions in Belgium where not so favourable as those back in Scotland as near blizzard conditions prevailed upon arrival. Having only a short period to discharge and move the cargo and reload to a second vessel time was against the shipment. However the exceptional quality and professionalism of our Stevedoring partner ensure the cargo was discharged and reloaded smoothly. The cargo set sail from Belgium for the slightly warmer waters of Australia on time, on budget and we had a very satisfied customs back home in Scotland.
