WOMEN IN LOGISTICS

BREAKING BOUNDARIES

THE RISE OF WOMEN IN LOGISTICS

As we approach International Women’s Day and become members of the first all-female network in the industry Logifem, Society Network, let’s celebrate the invaluable contribution of women within our logistics family! At Tuscor Lloyds UK, we are privileged to have a diverse team of talented individuals, so let’s talk about women and their contribution in the world of Logistics 😊

The Rise of Women in Logistics:

Within Tuscor Lloyds, we actively encourage gender diversity and create opportunities for women to thrive within our organisation. Every woman is her own. They have strong and supportive personalities, both working as a team as well as individually. From managers to directors, to handling the day-to-day sales, operations and documentation our female colleagues bring a wealth of skills and knowledge to one of the most demanding industries in the world.

Meet some of the women of Tuscor Lloyds; Emma, Mirella, Billie, Deniz, Kader and Hannah!

Emma Nash – Director at Tuscor Lloyds Turkey / Business Development Manager of Tuscor Lloyds UK:

“As a woman, there’s nothing better than attending a conference or meeting where it is mainly male-dominated and holding your own. We are seeing more of this now and I really hope this continues as we need more women in the industry. Many years ago, being a woman in logistics was considered unusual, but today I’m pleased to see that we’re moving past that. We now see more women in various roles across the industry, and the opportunities are limitless. I’ve been fortunate in my career to always have a team around me that encourages me to grow and take new challenges.”

Mirella Castle – Sales and Operations of Tuscor Lloyds UK :

“When I started my career in this industry over 15 years ago, being a woman in the logistics field was somehow unusual. We are seeing a lot more women in this industry these days. I notice this daily when meeting new customers/partners in the industry. I see the difference at fairs & shows all over the world and I love it. It brings me pride coming across companies such as our Turkiye office where all the employees are female, or agents’ society networks such as Logifem leading the way with an all-female network. This really shows that women in logistics is already happening and very successfully.”

WOMEN IN LOGISTICS

Kader Hisir – Operations of Tuscor Lloyds Turkey:

“I think women are future leaders in the industry. We will grow even more with our experience and take our place in the developing sector. The next generation should be open to innovation, patient, and confident, there are always opportunities to improve your career level in logistics!“

Hannah Clapham – Operations of Tuscor Lloyds UK

“From reading articles online in regard to the increase of women working in the logistics industry, it shows how equality has developed in the workplace. More women are progressively making their way into traditionally male dominated industries and exceeding in senior roles as we see from our own company. It is proven there has definitely been a positive shift in representation for women in logistics companies and this will only continue to grow in the future. I believe now, more women feel recognised in this industry. The future for women in logistics is definitely bright!”

Billie Cawley – Operations of Tuscor Lloyds UK

“Since starting in the industry nearly 10 years ago, I have seen not only my own office grow with women but the industry as a whole. I find really empowering meeting women in this field and believe the main benefit to the logistics world for employing more women is creating diversity. As the industry becomes more complex it requires employment of efficient staff, regardless of their gender. From firsthand experience I think seeing women thrive in the industry has been a push in the right direction to get more women involved and it being a comfortable and safe working environment. “

Deniz Yalçınkaya – Business Development Manager of Tuscor Lloyds Turkey:

“I would like Women to work in more diverse jobs. To give an example, logistics outfield operations are generally dominated by men. I think women can work in these positions with their practicality and intelligence. Women can also drive trucks, use cranes and work in port areas. I would like to see more women in these roles in the future.“
As we celebrate International Women’s Day and reflect on the progress we’ve made, lets also continue to commit to creating an environment where all individuals, regardless of gender, feel empowered to excel and thrive. These women, together continue to break barriers, challenge stereotypes and build a more inclusive future for women in logistics. Thank you to all the amazing women at Tuscor Lloyds!
