Heavy Machine Pumps

from the UK to Oman

Delivering Solutions

Oman’s government are keen to broaden their economic horizons, moving spending away from the oil and gas industry, as the market fluctuates and global oil prices slump. In 2015, there has been a rise in government investment spending for large scale infrastructure projects in line with their ‘Vision 2020’ strategy

According to UKTI, the UK is Oman’s biggest foreign investor with exports totalling around £551 million in 2014. In particular, the energy sector makes up over 50% of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and the country is keen to encourage foreign investment. Our latest project is just one of the UK exports making up the positive numbers for the energy sector in Oman. The customer tasked Tuscor Lloyds with moving 11 pieces of heavy machine pumps from Newcastle, UK to Sohar, Oman.

Martyn Blackburn, of Tuscor UK, explained that due to our expertise and previous experience in handling this specific type of cargo we were an obvious choice for this project.

The cargo was collected from Newcastle using 3 low loaders and 1 flatbed trailer and a specialist crane was employed for 3 pieces of cargo that weighed from 18,000kg up to 29,000kg. Tuscor Lloyds team of specialists ensured that the cargo was loaded and lashed to Mafi’s and shipped via Roro Vessel to the port of Sohar. Tuscor Lloyds have been helping companies exporting to the Middle East for years. We pride ourselves on the extensive network we have built in this region, with experts in key locations to help the smooth transit of your cargo across the Middle East and beyond.
