Water Treatment Equipment to Monrovia Liberia
Our projects team work across continents in a variety of industries. Our latest job saw the team deliver a piece of water treatment equipment to the developing area of Monrovia, Liberia.
Monrovia is the capital city of the West African country Liberia, located on the Atlantic Coast at Cape Mesurado. The city has a population of around 1,010,970.
Tuscor Lloyds have been involved in more consignments to West African region as large scale infrastructure projects drives development.
One of which has been masterminded by APM Terminals, who have transformed the Freeport of Monrovia. APM are currently the only terminal operator in Liberia and the company prides itself on ‘supporting Liberia’s economic development.’

“Transporting machinery to emerging markets always makes for an interesting shipment but thanks to some fast thinking we were able to move this piece with ease.”
– Luke Wrench, Project Manager
How did we do it?
This particular shipment was destined for the emerging Freeport of Monrovia. The piece of machinery was classified as Out of Gauge, weighing approximately 3500kgs.
Our team took over when the cargo was delivered into our depot in Tilbury. The 40ft flat rack container needed to carry the cargo proved difficult to come by and the line were not able to offer any stock at Tilbury.
If we were to reposition line stock from elsewhere there would have been unforeseen repositioning costs for the customer. Fortunately Tuscor Lloyds have sought to maintain stocks of flat rack containers, precisely for moments like this. We were able to use one of our own 40ft flat racks stored at the Tilbury depot avoiding the extra charges.
After years’ of experience in project cargo our team have learnt not to rely on shipping lines to provide the necessary equipment for specialist cargo. This is just one of the many reasons customers trust Tuscor Lloyds to get the job done.
